| Is this the new trend? Is it only suitable for large turbos or good for smaller ones as well? Does this improve spool on bigger turbos? Seems like detonation would be a big issue unless running very high octane fuels. Is lower compression safer/more reliable even with a good tune? Isn't that why Nissan used low comp pistons from the factory? On the other hand, it seems that compression is going to drop somewhat when you enlarge the bowls in the head to prevent shrouding of the larger valves. I have no idea to what extent. Apparently cams and adjusting cam timing has a big effect as well. How does this all play into detonation? At what point are gains from increasing piston compression lost when making these other changes? Personally I would rather not sacrifice reliability for a few extra ponies, but maybe there's more to this.... Would love to hear commentary from people much smarter than me about this stuff:-)
